The Atlanta Falcons released safety William Moore and linebacker Justin Durant on Monday.
Moore, the team's second-round pick in the 2009 NFL draft, had two years left on his deal. His cap number would have been $6.525 million next season.
Durant, who signed a three-year deal with the Falcons prior to the 2015 season, had a cap number of $3,416,666 for 2016.
The release of Moore saves $3.35 million in cap space while Durant's released equals a $2.58 million cap savings. By releasing Durant on Monday, the Falcons avoid having his $1.
