The Falcons made their displeasure with C.J. Goodwin known over the last couple of weeks. Goodwin had been a major part of the special teams unit, but got very few defensive snaps, and struggled with the ones he did get. It all came to a head against the Vikings, when Goodwin only got two snaps, made major mistakes on both of them, and found himself inactive last week against the Saints in favor of Blidi Wreh-Wilson.
Now Goodwin, a promising converted wide receiver who had some good snaps for the Falcons during last year’s stretch run and in the playoffs, has been cut.
