The Atlanta Falcons just knocked off the New Orleans Saints, and now they set their sights on the division-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A win here means an awful lot for this team’s future viability (2-0 divisional record!) and would put them atop the NFC South in the here and now.
It may be sloppy, given that it’s Thursday night, but the hope is the sloppiness comes more from a Bucs team with a long injury list than a Falcons team that keeps talking about being closer to finding their footing. Getting Atlanta’s ground game cooking against a suspect Buccaneers run defense, squeezing a bit more out of an inconsistent passing game, and slowing a potent Bucs passing attack will do the trick.
