Mularkey was Matt Ryan’s first coordinator as a pro, serving under Mike Smith from Ryan’s rookie season in 2008 through 2011. That team made the playoffs in each season but 2009, earning Mularkey Offensive Coordnator of the Year honors from Sporting News in 2010 and leading to serious consideration of Mularkey as a head coach candidate.
