Earlier in the week, we laid out some realistic targets for the Falcons in free agency’s wave, and we saw some movement on that front as the team brought in a few established veterans to shore up positions of need. On Tuesday Atlanta signed former Carolina running back Mike Davis to a two-year deal, an addition that should prove positive for the Falcons’ backfield.
They followed up that move by inking free agent linebacker Barkevious Mingo to a one-year contract. Mingo, a former first-rounder, has bounced around a bit of late, but he adds a sturdy presence to the linebacker corps and still has the ability to rush the passer.
