If Devonta Freeman plays out his new contract, he will almost certainly wind up leading the Falcons in every significant rushing category. He’s somewhat ridiculously already eighth in yards and attempts, and his big touchdown run against the Buccaneers put him in even more rarefied company. He’s now tied for fifth all-time on the franchise’s rushing touchdowns list, with 30 to his name.
The two men he’s tied with are franchise legends in their own rights. William Andrews might be the best back Atlanta ever had, though injury ultimately derailed his career, while Warrick Dunn put together a great career in a very compact timeframe in the early 2000s.
