Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn made it clear that veteran safety Dashon Goldson, who worked out for the team Saturday, would have to accept a backup role if he signs.
Goldson was brought in after the team announced rookie first-round draft pick Keanu Neal is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Monday. Neal is slated to start at strong-side linebacker but is expected to miss at least the first two games of the regular season, if not three.
