FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Wide receiver Julio Jones did not participate in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday while nursing a turf toe injury, but Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn remained optimistic regarding Jones' status.
Jones went through the walk-through Thursday and did some jogging and cutting, Quinn said. As the team started practice, Jones was on a side field with fellow injured teammates Jake Matthews and Mohamed Sanu but did not run during the media viewing period.
Asked if Jones would return to practice Friday in a limited role, Quinn said, "I'm hopeful for that, yeah.
