The Atlanta Falcons made it official Monday in announcing assistant head coach Raheem Morris' move from defense to offense as the team's new wide receivers coach.
Morris was the defensive pass-game coordinator, a role now filled by newly-hired Jerome Henderson, who was last the secondary coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
Morris' extensive background on defense made the switch a puzzling move. True, the Falcons needed a replacement for departed wide receivers coach Terry Robiskie, who left to become the Tennessee's offensive coordinator. However, no one truly expected Morris to be Robiskie's successor.
Falcons coach Dan Quinn tried to provide reasoning behind the move.
