Atlanta Falcons’ running back Devonta Freeman was drafted in the fourth round in 2014 with hopes of him providing solid backup duty to then starter Steven Jackson. Freeman saw minimal playing time as a rookie, but has quickly found a home in the Falcons’ backfield in 2015.
Heading into 2015, Freeman again was not projected to be the opening day starter. Rookie Tevin Coleman got the nod as the starter and got off to a nice start, but a rib injury gave Freeman an opportunity to show off what he can do as the starting running back.
With two starts under his belt in 2015, Freeman has six rushing touchdowns and now leads the NFL in total rushing touchdowns with seven.
