The 2014 Atlanta Falcons draft class has lost another member. Linebacker Marquis Spurill is the latest member to get cut, leaving just Jake Matthews, Ra’shede Hageman, Ricardo Allen and Dezmen Southward in last year’s class. Spruill was rooted on by many to make the team this year after tearing his ACL midway though training camp as a rookie, but that unfortunately did not happen.
Spruill was among a group of linebackers that have all played good thus far, which gave the Falcons no choice but to part ways with the second year man out of Syracuse. This leaves several others vying for a spot on the 53-man roster at the linebacker position with three more weeks remaining before week one.
