Those who have been Atlanta Falcons fans since the 1970s may remember the name Tommy Nobis. Nobis played for the Atlanta Falcons from 1966-1976. During that time, he was selected to five Pro Bowls. A San Antonio, Texas native, Nobis was selected in the first round of the 1966 draft.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Nobis passed away at the age of 74.

Notably, Nobis was the first play ever to be drafted by the Atlanta Falcons and won Rookie of the Year honors. To this day, he still holds certain Atlanta Falcons records, including most combined tackles in a single season.
