After receiving some bad news that the Atlanta Falcons would not sign corner back Brandon Boykin, the team got some good news immediately after.
14-year veteran pass rusher Dwight Freeney is set to visit with the Falcons at some point next week. Freeney has 119.5 career sacks and is coming off of an 8-sack year with the Arizona Cardinals.
The most sacks a player on the Falcons had last season was four from Vic Beasley.
Signing Freeney makes a ton of sense. Beasley is no longer going to play leo on first and second down and having a proven veteran like Freeney to step in and play that role would be tremendous.
