LOS ANGELES -- The Atlanta Falcons have placed running back Damien Williams on injured reserve with a rib injury, it was announced Saturday.
The move to IR, which means Williams will miss at least the next four games, comes one day after he was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Williams suffered the injury on the second drive of the team's season-opener against the New Orleans Saints last Sunday. While he returned to the game in the fourth quarter, playing 10 total snaps in the game, Williams said he was still sore the next day and would see how things went in terms of his availability against the Rams.
