The Atlanta Falcons closed out the 2018 NFL season by winning three straight games versus the Cardinals, Panthers and Bucs. This infuriated a lot of the fan base for one specific reason – draft positioning. The three game winning streak cost the Falcons a top five-draft slot in the 2019 NFL draft. To be rewarded with a top five pick in this year’s draft, would have assured the Falcons of the pick they truly wanted without having to trade up for him.
Not all is lost. The Falcons currently sit at 14 and with nine overall picks in 2019 and have the ability to move up in any given round to assure themselves of the best available player that will schematically fit what they do and who they are.
