Atlanta Falcons: Antone Smith sidelined with hamstring injury, questionable to return

Antone Smith suffered a hamstring injury while running in for a touchdown in the preseason opener with the Tennessee Titans. He is questionable to return.

Both Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman are also sidelined with hamstring injuries, which kept them both out of the preseason opener. Smith’s injury causes more concern for the Atlanta Falcons with a depleted backfield.

Neither Freeman or Coleman’s injuries are serious, but it’s unknown the extent of Smith’s hamstring problem at this stage.

Atlanta is looking to form a strong run game this season under new head coach Kyle Shanahan, so this isn’t the start they wanted with all three backs injured.
