It was a painful end to a season that held so much promise for the Atlanta Falcons. After they went to the Super Bowl last year, they were a favorite to return to the big game when the 2017 season kicked off.
All the praise was high as they were believed to have the most complete roster in the NFL led by 2016 league MVP Matt Ryan at quarterback. They also re-signed running back Devonta Freeman to a long-term deal and added some talent in the draft like edge rusher Takkarist McKinley and linebacker Duke Riley.
They never seemed to be able to put it all together for long though as the Falcons were up and down all year long.
