On Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25, Falcons S Ricardo Allen, CB Akeem King and OG Ben Garland will be in Hamilton, Ont., where they’ll attend the Hamilton 5-on-5 Flag Football League playoffs.
Joining the players will be Jen Walter, the first female coach in NFL history. Together, they’ll hold a Q&A with local coaches, hold an on-field clinic and meet the 450 youth flag football players.
Many of these players are young women, as are two of the coaches. The league has experienced a large growth among female participants in the 12-13-year-old division; the all-girls team in the 10-11-year-old division recently won back-to-back titles.
