Alford to face no discipline for quitting on play

FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons cornerback Robert Alford, who stopped running on a play that turned into a 74-yard touchdown for Carolina, will not be disciplined, coach Dan Quinn said on Monday.

Quinn met with Alford to discuss the play where Carolina wide receiver Ted Ginn broke free for a touchdown, a dropped interception and Alford’s weak outside leverage on Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart’s 44-yard run on the third play of the game.
