Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant isn't being shy about expressing his excitement over the hiring of former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as the team's new head coach.
Desmond spoke with his brother, Marcus, who played under Quinn for two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. From what Desmond says, Marcus gave the 44-year-old defensive mastermind a glowing review.
"He told me that he's a great coach," Trufant told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "He's going to help the players and he will get the best out of us. I'm excited."
Trufant, 24, posted 61 tackles and picked off three passes during the 2014 campaign. He is one of several young players from the Mike Smith era who will be the focal point of Quinn's efforts as he looks to translate the success he had with the NFC champion Seahawks to results in Atlanta.
