Yankees' DJ LeMahieu updates injury status after tweaking left calf in spring training debut

DJ LeMahieu said Sunday before the Yankees' 1:05 p.m. game at the Atlanta Braves that his left calf injury is "not anything major, but it's probably going to be a little bit" before he resumes baseball activities, according to NorthJersey.com's Pete Caldera.

"I'm not off to the hottest start with that," LeMahieu said of proving that he is healthy after his injury-riddled 2024 season, via NJ.com's Randy Miller.

LeMahieu, 36, made his spring training debut in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Houston Astros. Batting sixth and starting at designated hitter, he posted an 0-for-2 afternoon with a second-inning strikeout swinging and fourth-inning fly out to second base before being replaced by pinch-hitter Omar Martinez in the seventh.
