Wisconsin native Tom Hamilton named Ford C. Frick Award, will be immortalized by Hall of Fame

Waterloo High School graduate Tom Hamilton, who has called games for the Cleveland Guardians since 1990 and called Appleton Foxes games earlier in his career, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Ford C. Frick Award, an honor given annually by the National Baseball Hall of Fame to a broadcaster for their contributions to baseball.

It's the same award bestowed to Milwaukee Brewers legendary radio voice Bob Uecker in 2003 and Uecker's former play-by-play partner and longtime Cubs announcer, Pat Hughes, in 2023.

The criteria for selection includes a "commitment to excellence, quality of broadcasting abilities, reverence within the game, popularity with fans, and recognition by peers.
