JUPITER, Fla. — Braves pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts and only two walks in nine innings Thursday in a 5-2 Grapefruit League in against the Marlins, including eight strikeouts and one walk in six innings by four relievers.
“I was really impressed with all the pitchers,” Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. “Wink (reliever Dan Winkler). Lucas Sims got himself in a little trouble, but he got himself right out of it.”
Winkler pitched a perfect eighth inning with two strikeouts, and Sims had four strikeouts while allowing one hit and one walk in two scoreless innings.
