Pat Murphy had a very specific reason for choosing No. 21 when he was named Milwaukee Brewers manager.

"I was 21 at Notre Dame," he told the Journal Sentinel in February. "My boyhood friend growing up loved Roberto Clemente and turned me on to Roberto Clemente at a young age. So when I got to Notre Dame, I had just talked to him and he said, 'You better wear No. 21 in honor of Roberto,' so that's what I did."
