The Brewers and Braves were off Thursday so the only games that mattered for wild-card or NL East purposes were Phillies-Marlins, Mets-Pirates and Padres-Diamondbacks.
The Phils lost to the Marlins, which moved Milwaukee a half-game closer. The Brewers are four games behind the Phillies and two behind the Padres, who started at 9:40 p.m. in Arizona.
The Phillies remain in very good shape after winning two of three in Miami. As they head to Atlanta, they're 80-63 with 19 games left.
The Mets beat the Pirates pretty easily after being swept at home by the Cubs.
