The Red Sox signed Price to the largest contract in team history on Tuesday: a seven-year, $217 million contract with an opt-out after three years. Price was one of the top free agent pitchers on the market. To make room for Price, the Sox DFA'd former prospect Garin Cecchini.
The Tigers bolstered their rotation with the addition of Jordan Zimmermann, who signed a five-year, $110 million deal on Sunday, which some would consider a steal when you look at his post-TJ surgery numbers. He had been one of the Nationals' most consistent starters, but 2015 was his worst as a full-time starter; however, I doubt anyone would consider 13 wins, a 3.
