Weekend Digest: Pete Rose's gambling resurfaces; female ballplayer could make history; Sandberg resigns

Pete Rose finally admitted in 2004 that he had bet on baseball while a manager, but adamantly denied betting as a player. Now, a new OTL report shows evidence that Rose had indeed bet on baseball as a player. ESPN obtained documents containing said evidence from a notebook belonging to Michael Bertolini, a former associate of Pete's, that was found in October 1989.

Some will say this kills any chance of Rose getting reinstated for Hall of Fame eligibility. Others, like Jayson Stark, say the Hall of Fame should tell the true story of baseball history and let him in.
