LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Ryan Weber admits that he was among the many who were shocked in November, when FanGraphs' initial listing of the Braves' top prospects ranked him fourth within the talent-rich system.
"I was like, I've never been a prospect my entire career and now they're just going to do that," Weber said. "They can write whatever they want. I look around and see these actual prospects and think, 'How can they? I don't get it.'"
The 25-year-old right-hander feeds off the confidence he gained while making five starts as a September callup last season and the chip that has rested on his shoulder as he has quieted the doubters he's had since his high school days in Clearwater, Fla.
