Calls continue mounting for Major League Baseball to implement the Automated Ball-Strike System, and the league shouldn’t expect fans to back down anytime soon.
The popular Umpire Auditor X (formerly Twitter) account found that veteran umpire Stu Scheurwater missed 19 calls in Wednesday’s game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves. Roughly 74% of those 19 calls went against the visiting Cardinals.
St. Louis held a 1-0 lead through six innings. However, the Braves tied the game in the seventh and added three in the eighth, holding on for a 4-1 victory.
