Vanderbilt baseball left-handed pitcher Carter Holton was drafted in the second round, 62nd overall by the Atlanta Braves in the 2024 MLB Draft on Sunday.
Holton started 41 career games with a 4.10 ERA. He was a Freshman All-American in 2022 when he put up a 3.14 ERA in 15 starts and became the first freshman in program history to start a regional opener. But his ERA rose each subsequent year: first to 4.11 in an injury-shortened 2023 season and then to 5.19 in 2024.
As a junior, Holton was fourth among qualified SEC pitchers with 12.
