No one was more consistent. Hank batted .303 with a .936 OPS at home; on the road he hit .306 with a .921 OPS. He posted a .984 OPS in “late and close” situations; .967 with 2 outs and RISP. In 17 postseason games, he batted .362 with 6 HR and 16 RBI.
Aaron never struck out 100 times and was productive until the end. At age 39, he hit .301 with 40 homers and the second-best OPS of his career.
Debate all you want about the best living player, but there’s no arguing that The Hammer is the best living hitter.
