Despite having already secured the National League East, the Braves can help solidify their current standing over the next few days. While the Dodgers sit ½ game behind the Braves for the No. 2 seed in the NL, a mid-week sweep of the Mets could create some breathing room and possibly inch them closer to home field advantage (though the Cubs have a three-game lead in this department).
It is nice to already have the division locked down, but regarding home field advantage, tonight’s game is a must-win. It stands to reason that after most of the starters were provided two full days off (one of which was scheduled), the regular lineup should return to the field tonight to help support this endeavor.
