COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Sweep the series and you’re in. It sounds simple but that task will be anything but easy as the Atlanta Braves begin a 3-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Braves enter Tuesday night with a 2.5 game lead in the National League East Division. Atlanta has led the division since Aug. 15 and is trying to win it for the fourth straight year.
The pressure is on Atlanta. Two wins over the Phillies and one win over the Mets or Phillies loss to the Marlins would give the Braves the division.
Drop two or three games and the Phillies take the lead back and force the Braves hand against the Mets.
