This Day in Braves History: June 22
1933 - The Braves split a doubleheader with the Cardinals. Tex Carleton leads St. Louis to a 12-0 win in the first game. Braves’ righty Bob Brown ties the National League record with two balks in Game 2 but Boston scores a, 2-1 win anyway.
1958 - Braves starter Carl Willey throws a shutout against the Giants in his first major league start. Willey allows six hits including Willie Mays’ 1,000th career hit.
