This Day in Braves History: December 3
1963 - The Milwaukee Braves acquire Felipe Alou, Ed Bailey, Billy Hoeft and Ernie Bowman from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Del Crandall, Bob Hendley and Bob Shaw.
1974 - The Atlanta Braves acquire Dick Allen from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for catcher Jim Essian. Allen refuses to report to Atlanta and instead retires. Allen is then coaxed out of retirement by Richie Ashburn and is traded by Atlanta to Philadelphia in May of 1975.
