Prior to the 2020 season, I wrote about where each member of this year’s team ranked, by WAR, among players in Atlanta Braves history. Seeing how we have enough division these days, I averaged all three major WAR calculations (bWAR, fWAR, and WARP) for each player from 1966 on, calling the result “Unified WAR”. If you’re wondering why this doesn’t cover all of Braves history, I have two reasons. First, I don’t think the WAR data is as reliable if you go too far back. Second, and more importantly, the achievements and exploits of Milwaukee Braves or Boston Braves (or Bees, Rustlers, Doves, or what have you) don’t really do a lot for me.
