Atlanta Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos met with the media on Tuesday and acknowledged that he had explored trade discussions even before Mike Soroka was lost for the remainder of the season, but said nothing was close to fruition. Making a trade in the current environment of uncertainty with expanded playoffs is going to be difficult.
“Today the likelihood is we’ll stay internal,” Anthopoulos said, “but we will continue to inquire and see if we can line up on a deal.”
Anthopoulos usually plays things close to the vest so it isn’t unusual that he would be unwilling to give up any information.
