The pursuit of Marcell Ozuna has been a quiet one this offseason, to say the least. On Wednesday, the extent to which the Braves are actually part of that pursuit became much less clear. An interview with Ozuna created some buzz after the free agent outfielder made reference to a lack of communication with Atlanta this winter. This is very disappointing of course, as several moderately-priced alternatives have already signed elsewhere this offseason and the Braves have been famously absent from the trade market during the Anthopoulos regime. Letting Ozuna walk would be defensible if another plan was executed, but given the proximity to Spring Training, things will need to progress very quickly.
