Despite having their series opener against the NL East leading New York Mets rained out, Friday was a rather eventful day for the Atlanta Braves. It began with an unscheduled announcement that ended up not being an announcement at all.
Brian Snitker was a guest on High Heat where he told Chris Russo that Mike Soroka would miss the remainder of the season. Soroka is currently recovering from an Achilles tear that he suffered last season. He recently suffered a setback and had to undergo exploratory surgery. The team had not made an official announcement since Soroka’s second procedure so it was understandable that Snitker’s comments caused a stir.
