One of the best sights of the offseason occurred on Monday when Mike Soroka posted a video of him throwing to his Instagram page. Soroka suffered a torn Achilles on August 3 in a game against the Mets while coming off the mound on a ground ball by J.D. Davis. Soroka underwent surgery several days later and began his long road back. The Braves have not set any timetable for Soroka’s return but it usually is a five to six month process. The fact that he has resumed throwing already is a great sign.
The Braves made an early splash on the free agent market with the addition of Drew Smyly on a one-year deal.
