The Atlanta Braves seemingly dodged a bullet with the news that Max Fried is expected to be ready to go for Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series.
GM Alex Anthopoulos told MLB Network Radio that Fried underwent tests Wednesday night after exiting after just one inning against the Marlins. Fried appeared to tweak his ankle while fielding a bunt by Miami’s Starling Marte. He appeared to lobby to remain in the game between innings but the team elected to err on the side of caution.
Brian Snitker told reporters Thursday that Fried was a little sore but the Braves are hopeful that he will be ready for the postseason.
