The Braves received two awards from Sporting News on Wednesday, as Josh Donaldson earned the NL Comeback Player of the Year Award and Brian Snitker received the NL Manager of the Year Award.
For Donaldson the 2019 season was monumental as the 33-year-old was rejuvenated by fortuitous health, which had escaped him in recent years. Donaldson posted one of the best seasons of his career to date while stabilizing an Atlanta lineup that desperately needed a cleanup hitter behind Freddie Freeman. With improved health and a renewed power stroke, Donaldson was everything the Braves could have hoped this season, and was certainly a deserving winner of this award.
