The Atlanta Braves salvaged a series split Sunday with a win over the Washington Nationals to improve their record to 24-16 on the season. That combined with a Phillies loss Sunday increased Atlanta’s lead in the NL East to three full games. The Miami Marlins, who will arrive at Truist Park Monday to begin a three-game series, are in third place and 4.5 games back.
The Braves have just 20 games remaining in the regular season and will head back out on the road for their final road trip after the completion of the Marlins series. That trip will take Atlanta to Washington for four games, Baltimore for three and New York for three.
