The Atlanta Braves announced that they had a brand new mascot at the 2018 ChopFest on January 27, 2018. The name of the mascot? Blooper!
What the heck kind of name is Blooper? The Braves got a lot of flack on social media about this and rightfully so. He looks kinda like the Phillie Phanatic and the name is just weird. Why Blooper?
This change was strange for the Braves, but I’m guessing they just wanted to play it safe.
Though the initial reactions by Braves fans to Blooper were not overly positive, he’s actually doing pretty well on the field…which was very strange for me to type.
