DENVER -- Dansby Swanson aided the Braves' latest early eruption and then moved a homer away from the cycle with the fifth-inning double he hit in Friday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.
Swanson drilled a two-run triple during Atlanta's four-run first inning and then doubled off Rockies starter German Marquez during a three-run fifth inning. The Braves' shortstop, who also singled in the third inning, has two three-hit performances within his past five games and four multi-hit performances within his past five games.
The most recent Brave to hit for the cycle was Freddie Freeman, who achieved the feat with an 11th-inning single during a 9-8, 13-inning win over the Reds on June 15, 2016.
