NEW YORK -- The Braves continue to show that they are for real as they took an early 3-0 lead over the Mets in the top of the first inning on Thursday at Citi Field. The Braves are looking to sweep a three-game series from New York.
With Mets left-hander Jason Vargas on the mound, Atlanta took a quick 1-0 lead when Freddie Freeman scored on a double by Nick Markakis, who extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
Kurt Suzuki followed and hit a monster two-run homer to left.
