WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — There are few programs equipped to handle the challenge presented to Tecumseh this spring.
In the preseason coaches poll, the Braves were ranked first. Same for the final poll in May. One by one, every opponent squared up with their best effort. There could be no off nights.
The issue was nobody else was Tecumseh. The Braves were the best team in Class A from Day 1. They cemented this notion with one final grand performance.
No. 1 Tecumseh beat No. 5 South Central (Union City) 11-5 at Purdue's Bittenger Stadium on Friday to win its fourth state championship in program history.
