LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Former Nebraska standout and MLB 2nd Round Pick, Spencer Schwellenbach, has been called up to the Atlanta Braves. Schwellenbach is set to make his MLB debut and start at pitcher for the Braves on Wednesday May 29, 2024.
Schwellenbach was a dual threat player for the Huskers between 2019-2021; however, after being drafted to Atlanta, the team converted him to a pitcher full time.
The former Big Ten player of the year gets his shot in the show just 3 days before his 24th birthday.
