Southern Miss baseball center fielder Dalton McIntyre will sign with the Atlanta Braves and not play for the Golden Eagles in 2025, according to The Jackson Post.
McIntyre, a junior from Jackson, Tennessee, was picked by the Braves in the 19th round of Tuesday's MLB draft.
Since McIntyre was drafted after the 10th round, a slot value is not assigned to the pick. Instead, if his deal exceeds $150,000, any dollars over that amount will count against Atlanta's bonus pool. Exact terms of McIntyre's deal are unknown.
McIntyre is the third Golden Eagle revealing his intention to sign with the MLB, joining pitcher Niko Mazza and shortstop signee DJ Layton.
