ATLANTA -- Before going to the World Series with the Mets last postseason, Kelly Johnson returned to the Braves last January and rejuvenated a Major League career that had started exactly one decade earlier in Atlanta.
Now, Johnson will have an opportunity to experience yet another homecoming with his original organization. According to a Major League source, the 33-year-old veteran and the Braves agreed to terms on a one-year, $2 million contract that is pending a physical. The Braves have not officially announced this deal.
Johnson, who could make an additional $1.25 million via incentives, has been a top target as the Braves have spent the past few weeks looking for a left-handed hitter who could share the third-base position with Adonis Garcia.
